In 2001, the farmstead, consisting of outbuildings constructed in 1907 and later additions, gained recognition for its historical significance. It stood out as one of the few surviving historic farmsteads in South Jordan and held particular significance because it had been continuously operated by the same family. Additionally, the house played a crucial role in showcasing Victorian Eclectic architecture, a style that, when applied to a rural setting, symbolized the conclusion of Utah's isolation from the rest of the nation in the late nineteenth century.
