Best time to start: This location is amazing in both the morning and prior to sunset. I prefer this location during the first 3 hours of sunrise or 3 hours prior to the sunset time. Late September its best to start at 4:45pm. Early to Mid October it is best to start at 4:15pm. The mountain gets shaded therefore it gets darker here earlier. Sunrise is also great here.

Autumn Colors: Generally are best September 20 - October 20. The autumn photos below were taken October 17, 2023.

From May through October 7th, visitors can drive further up and park in this area. There is a parking fee of $15 per vehicle during this period. However, from mid-October through April, the gate for vehicle access is closed. Don't fret, though, as there are numerous fantastic photography spots closer to the road's entrance, and visitors are permitted to walk through the front gate during this time.
