Best time to start: This location is amazing in both the morning and prior to sunset. I prefer this location during the first 3 hours of sunrise or 3 hours prior to the sunset time.
From May through October 7th, visitors can drive further up and park in this area. There is a parking fee of $15 per vehicle during this period (if you have a “America the Beautiful National Parks Pass this works as well). However, from mid-October through April, the gate for vehicle access is closed. Don't fret, though, as there are numerous fantastic photography spots closer to the road's entrance, and visitors are permitted to walk through the front gate during this time.
